Arte Callejero (I) / Street Art (I)

There are so many ways of creating art. And it´s becoming easier to appreciate different works of art of varied quality and artistic value, without the necessity of strolling through a museum. The streets of Buenos Aires offer endless examples of this. Walls, corners, dust bins and even subway trains serve as canvasses for the cities street artists. I don´t believe in the vandalizing of public areas, but I consider that all of the work presented here are not act of vandalism, but works of art.

I am only presenting here a short review of some of the hundreds of works that can be found on streets of any of the neighborhoods in Buenos Aires. Such is the impact of this form of art, that there are tours available, with specialized guides that visit the most significant painting sites, as well as giving visitors the opportunity to meet some of the artists and their workshops. Whilst I decided to explore the streets on my own in search of these, I believe the tour option might come in handy for the visitor with a short stay.

  2. Preciosas.
